  Thursday, 20 August 2026   Indonesia is set to receive major support for its energy transition as Germany confirms that the country will get funding under the Just Energy Transition Partnership, or JETP. The program was created to help Indonesia reduce its dependence on coal and move toward cleaner energy.   The funding package is worth around $20 billion, making it one of the biggest international financial commitments connected to Indonesia’s energy transition, especially in Jakarta.   Wednesday, 19 August 2026   Medan is one of Indonesia’s biggest cities, and like many growing cities, it faces challenges related to the environment and cleanliness. Managing waste, keeping public spaces clean, and creating a healthier urban environment require cooperation from many different sides.   Germany has shown interest in working with the Medan City Government on these issues. A meeting between Medan Deputy Mayor Aulia Rachman and German Ambassador to Indonesia Ina Ruth Luise Lepel discussed possible cooperation, especially in the areas of environmental management and cleanliness.
