For years, Bali has been the king of tropical remote-working destinations. But lately, another Indonesian island has quietly started stealing attention from digital nomads who want something more peaceful, more exclusive, and honestly less crowded.

This is exactly why many digital nomads are paying attention. Today’s remote workers are no longer searching only for fast WiFi and cheap coffee shops. They are looking for wellness, cleaner environments, better mental health, and long-term lifestyle quality.
Lombok fits that trend perfectly. The Indonesian government also helped boost interest by discussing long-stay visa programs and digital nomad-friendly policies that could attract more foreign professionals into the country.
For investors, this creates a potentially massive opportunity. As more remote workers move into tropical destinations, demand for luxury villas, coworking spaces, cafés, wellness resorts, and sustainable accommodation will likely continue growing. Lombok is still relatively early compared to Bali, which means many believe the island still has room for expansion.
