During the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia, or TEI, in October 2025, Spanish representatives expressed strong interest in investing in Indonesia and potentially building a factory in the country.   The opportunity is attractive for a simple reason: Indonesia has access to a number of international trade agreements.   Thursday, 20 August 2026   Indonesia is set to receive major support for its energy transition as Germany confirms that the country will get funding under the Just Energy Transition Partnership, or JETP. The program was created to help Indonesia reduce its dependence on coal and move toward cleaner energy.   The funding package is worth around $20 billion, making it one of the biggest international financial commitments connected to Indonesia’s energy transition, especially in Jakarta.
