Indonesia\u2019s new capital, Nusantara, is attracting attention from international businesses, and Spain is one of the countries showing interest. Representatives from Spain expressed interest in cooperating with Indonesia in the development of IKN, adding another international connection to the country\u2019s ambitious new capital project.<\/p>\n

The interest came during a meeting between representatives from Spain, Finland, and Indonesia\u2019s IKN Authority. Spanish representatives included Spain\u2019s Ambassador to Indonesia, Francisco Aguilera Aranda, and Spanish trade attach\u00e9 Jose Angel Molero Gonzalez.<\/p>\n

For Spain, Nusantara is more than just a new city. It could become a potential market for companies with expertise in infrastructure, urban development, technology, and sustainable projects.<\/p>\n

The Spanish side also had an interesting reason for being interested in the project. The Spanish ambassador pointed out that Spain had experienced a capital-city move in the past, suggesting that the country could share its experience with Indonesia as Nusantara develops.<\/p>\n

This creates an interesting opportunity for Spanish businesses. Developing a completely new capital requires a huge range of services and solutions. According to the IKN Authority, buildings are planned to occupy around 25 percent of the city\u2019s area, while approximately 75 percent is intended to remain green. About 65 percent of that green area is planned as tropical forest that can function as a carbon sink.<\/p>\n

That vision could create opportunities for businesses specializing in green technology and sustainable urban solutions.
