During the visit, the Spanish delegation inspected several furniture businesses and production centers. The companies included Indocasa Furniture in Rengging Village, CV Mandiri Abadi in Bawu Village, PT Els Artsindo in Ngabul, and Estu Raya Mebel in Senenan.

The delegation also visited the famous carving and sculpture center in Mulyoharjo Village, Jepara. This gave the investors an opportunity to see the production process and the craftsmanship behind Jepara’s furniture products.

The visit was not simply about looking at furniture. It was also connected to the discussion about improving Jepara’s logistics infrastructure, particularly the possibility of developing an international-scale commercial port.

Strong Furniture Production

Jepara’s furniture industry already has significant export activity. According to Anik Rosyida from the Jepara Trade and Industry Office, the furniture industry in Jepara is capable of shipping around 100 containers every month.

One example is CV Mandiri Abadi. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the company was exporting around 50 containers per month, with approximately 70 percent of its shipments going to the United States. Before the pandemic, its monthly shipments had reached around 100 containers.

The company also produces and exports furniture made from aluminium in addition to wooden products.

Spanish Investor Sees Global Potential

During the visit, the Spanish investor Antonio reportedly praised the quality of Jepara furniture. He viewed the products as having high quality, neat designs, and good craftsmanship.

He also considered Jepara’s furniture capable of meeting not only domestic market preferences but also competing with similar products from other countries in the global market.

This interest is important because international investment can create opportunities for local industries to expand their networks and reach new markets. However, the reported visit itself was an inspection and exploration of Jepara’s industry; it should not automatically be interpreted as a completed investment agreement.

Why Logistics Matter

For a furniture-producing region with strong export activity, transportation infrastructure is an important part of the business. Better access to international shipping facilities could potentially make the movement of furniture and other products more efficient.

That is why the Spanish investors’ visit was also connected to the idea of an international commercial port in Jepara.

For Jepara, the combination of skilled craftsmen, established furniture companies, export experience, and interest from international investors shows the continuing global relevance of its furniture industry. The visit from Spain adds another chapter to Jepara’s effort to connect its traditional craftsmanship with wider international business opportunities.
